OUR PROCESS

ABD Inc. translates, typesets and prepares digital artwork for foreign language business cards with English on one side and the Asian language on the other. We use the information from your present card or new information you provide. We can do just the Asian language side artwork or both English and the Asian language sides.  We can provide the translation and digital file of the artwork for you to take to your own local printer or handle the entire process for you and deliver high quality, 2-sided, printed cards.

Every client is assigned an Account Manager who will serve as your single point of contact and guide you through every step of the process.

Step 1: Quotation

E-mail us a digital file, sketch, or image of the current English card(s) and all the necessary information you want translated. Indicate what language(s) you need the card(s) translated into and note any special instructions.

If you do not have an existing layout for us to follow and need us to create one, let us know.

If you also need printing, specify the quantity (250 is our minimum order but 500 to 1,000 cards represent a better value).  If there are custom Pantone colors, please specify the PMS ink number(s) if known.

Our e-mail address is: info@cards2asia.com

We will review your information and either e-mail or fax a written cost and time estimate quotation back to you usually within one (1) business day. Once you have reviewed the quotation and have accepted the terms, we will arrange for prepayment of the artwork to start the project.

Step 2: Order + Prepayment

Work will commence upon receipt of your approval to begin and payment in full.

We accept Visa, Mastercard, Discover, American Express, ATM/debit cards or bank transfer payments via the free and secure Paypal.com online payment service.  Alternatively, you can also elect to pay by cash or by sending us a check.

If you wish to pay via credit card using Paypal, simply wait for us to send you a money request via e-mail. The e-mail will include a link that will guide you through the free online credit card payment process. Paypal is free, secure, and reputable. It is owned by Ebay.

Note: You do not have to be a PayPal member to pay by credit card via PayPal.

Step 3: Translation

Our experienced translators can translate your name phonetically or use your existing given foreign language name if you have one. Sometimes our translators can even interject special meaning into phonetic translations which relate to you, your business, or the culture you are visiting in interesting ways. All vital information will be accurately translated based on your English card information. If you have certain preferences or contextual information on specific terminology, please let us know and we will implement the translation accordingly.

Step 4: Typesetting + Graphic Layout

Unlike most translators who simply place text, our skilled computer typesetters are also professional designers and can match your existing English card's graphic layout so your cards will always retain a consistent and professional look. A uniform corporate identity deliberately makes our translations appear to be a part of the overall graphic design and not an afterthought.  We can work with your existing English business card templates if they are provided as an Adobe Illustrator compatible digital file.

Optional Custom Layout Creation:

If you do not have a layout, our designers can create a custom layout for you for an additional layout design fee. In this scenario, we would create 2 - 3 layout options for you to select and refine into a final design.

Note: The majority of foreign language cards are two-sided with English on one side and the foreign language on the reverse side. You must provide any logo art. If you can not provide .EPS format vector art or high resolution image of the logo suitable for printing then we will typically leave an open space in the layout for your printer/graphic designer to paste it in or use text in its place. However, if you have original logo art, preferably in an vector art format such as Adobe Illustrator outlined .EPS, you can e-mail it to us and we will place it in the layout for you.

Step 5: Delivery of Digital Artwork

We E-mail the Adobe Illustrator Outlined .EPS and / or Acrobat PDF file to you. This is fast, convenient, and incurs no shipping charges.

The finished press ready digital artwork is delivered as an Adobe Illustrator outlined .EPS and / or Acrobat PDF computer file. These formats do not require any system fonts and is cross-platform for both Windows and Mac based computers. You can take our digital file artwork to any local printing bureau in your area to print your cards or have us handle the printing for you.

Step 6: Proofreading

Rest assured that your bilingual business cards are done right! We proof read the artwork once in-house and then provide e-mail digital file proofs so you or your foreign language associates can check and approve the translation and typesetting prior to committing to printing. If necessary, we will make one round of corrections for free of charge within seven (7) days after delivery.  We are not responsible for losses due to errors after this phase and once we commit to printing so do due diligence in checking and proofreading the artwork.

Note: New additions and/or changes to the original copy requiring re-translation are not considered corrections.

Step 7: Printing (Optional)

We usually suggest that clients take our digital artwork to their local printer for printing simply because it is more convenient and they can save on the shipping costs associated with physically sending the printed cards to their location. Because digital files can be e-mailed for free, any professional printer can print the cards once they have our Adobe Illustrator outlined .EPS or Acrobat PDF digital files.

However, if you wish, we can also handle the printing of bilingual business cards with English on the front and the Asian language on the back side.  Printing and shipping fees are quoted separately based on required quantity, number of ink colors, etc.  Our minimum printing order is 250 cards but our suggested order quantity is 500 or 1,000 cards because they represent a much better value.  Printing will commence upon receipt of prepayment via Paypal, cash, or check.

Step 8: Delivery of Printed Cards

We usually send printed cards via FEDEX.  Please provide us with your FEDEX account number if available.  If you are in the San Francisco Bay Area you can also choose to make an appointment to pick up the cards at our office. For door to door delivery to addresses within the city of San Francisco, we offer a US$15.00 messenger service.
